Booze and Guns Spell Trouble For Shasta Lake City Man

A Shasta Lake City man got into an argument with his adult son and fired off multiple shots from different guns, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 68-year-old Danny Joe Sliger was arrested Saturday night after Adam Pearson called deputies to a home on Red Bluff Street, saying Sliger had fired off a shotgun in the front yard and pointed the gun at his son, Daniel Thomas Sliger, with whom he had been arguing. He then reportedly went into his camp trailer that was parked there and emerged with a revolver, threatening his son and other people standing in the yard of the house next door. Before deputies arrived, the son was able to disarm his father with help from a friend. Multiple people were detained while deputies investigated. Guns and ammo were found in the trailer. Eventually, the elder man was arrested for criminal threats, negligent discharge, public intoxication and being a felon with guns.
