No deaths by Covid were reported Monday by Shasta County Public Health, but there have been seven in the last week. Even though the CDC has relaxed guidelines for quarantine following a positive Covid test, Tehama County Public Health has decided to keep the 10 day rule. Citing a sharp rise in Omicron cases the county is urging everyone to stay home following a positive test, even if asymptomatic. Tehama County is seeing roughly 100 cases a day of COVID-19 and has a vaccination rate of about 47%. The CDC has recently said a five day quarantine period is sufficient following a positive test.
