A garage fire in East Redding was contained by Redding Firefighters Wednesday night. Just before 9 O’clock Redding Fire Department arrived at a home on Shady Lane off Mistletoe and found the attached garage to be fully engulfed in flames. It took about 15 minutes bring the fire under control. The garage had major damage and the main part of the house had moderate damage. The value of the loss is estimated at $150,000 for the structure and another $50,000 for the contents. The home’s smoke alarms worked properly and both residents were able to escape, but one of them was transported to a hospital suffering from moderate burns. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
