Smoke will be seen rising from the 15,000 acre Weaverville Community Forest Tuesday as the Bureau of Land Management begins a prescribed burn. If weather allows, BLM will torch about 38 acres of understory in an area about 2-and-a-half miles south of the intersection of Oregon Street and West Weaver Road. The Weaverville Community Forest is managed jointly by the BLM and the Forest Service. The burn is set to begin at 10 O’clock Tuesday morning and it may continue Wednesday.
