Smoke will likely be seen Wednesday from the Platina area as Cal-Fire is planning to do a prescribed burn. They’ll be torching about 20 acres on the north side of Platina Road on the Williams Ranch, about five miles northeast of Platina. The burn is intended to increase public safety by reducing dead and downed fuels that can feed wildfires, as well as improve wildlife habitat and grazing areas. Smoke will be visible from as far away as Redding.
