96 new Coronavirus cases were confirmed in Shasta County Tuesday. There are 637 known active cases in Shasta County, but the actual number is believed to be much higher. There are 75 patients in the hospital with Covid and 13 in the ICU. Shasta County’s case rate is 406 per 100,000 residents. Public health says 100 is considered high. Mask guidance was loosened Tuesday, with masks no longer required in most settings, but still recommended. Vaccinations are available for free at many locations. In-home appointments can be made at myturn.ca.gov. The Sikh Center and SCAAR will host a vaccine and booster clinic with all vaccine brands available for free this Friday from 1:30PM to 6:30PM at Shasta Lake Chiropractic on Shasta Dam Boulevard.
