Police conducting a probation search Friday afternoon in North Redding found more than they had anticipated. Officers arriving at the home of 38-year-old Kevin Smith at an apartment complex on Boulder Creek Drive saw parolee Harrison Branum on his way out riding as a passenger in a car. Officers stopped the car and did a parole search, reportedly finding Methamphetamine for sale. As officers then approached Smith’s apartment, they said they saw items being thrown out the apartment’s rear window. Inside the apartment were Smith with a large amount of money and Karl Zimmerman, who had apparently absconded from parole in Utah. Items found outside the window included an Ounce of Fentanyl, a large quantity of Xanax pills, a scale and some Heroin. All three men were booked into jail.
