A lot more parking is about to open up in Downtown Redding. It’s been 19 months since the downtown parking structure was demolished to make room for the new block 7 building projects, including a 6-story garage. It offers 400 parking stalls, electric vehicle chargers, an elevator, solar shade structures on top, and a great view. It’s owned by K2 Development and the McConnell Foundation. A ribbon cutting ceremony is set for May 6th. There will be a “soft open” to the public on Thursday. There will be no charge for parking until June 1st. It’s not yet been determined how much it will cost after that.
