Northern California State Senator Brian Dahle has secured the endorsement of the state GOP in his run for Governor. The endorsement was approved by a supermajority vote at the California Republican Party Convention in Anaheim. In the last two gubernatorial elections, the party was unable to agree on a candidate to endorse. Even with the party’s backing, it’s an uphill run for Dahle, who announced his candidacy in February during a rally in Redding. California Democrats hold every statewide office, a nearly 2-to-1 edge in voter registrations over the GOP and dominate the congressional delegation and the legislature. Dahle has acknowledged that Newsom has an enormous campaign war chest. Dahle has asked his supporters to contribute One Dollar a day to his campaign.
