A Redding Planning Commission meeting Tuesday afternoon includes an agenda item that would be one of the few chances for the public to provide input on a new general plan. The update is intended to guide city development until 2045. The plan and its environmental impact report need to be completed before September of next year, which is a tight time frame in light of the fact that the current general plan was adopted in 2000 after a four year process. Comments on areas of concern in the future growth of Redding will be accepted through June 17th. The state requires a public scoping session, which will be during Tuesday’s meeting, which begins at 4 O’clock in the council chambers.
