An Anderson house was almost completely destroyed by fire Wednesday morning. Anderson Fire Department with help from Cal Fire/Shasta County Fire responded a little after 6AM to Inkwood Drive in a neighborhood off North Street east of the freeway. Heavy flames were pouring out the garage door and the front of the house, with exposure to neighboring homes. Two off-duty Shasta County Correctional Deputies, Deputy Hurte and Deputy Alido, had assisted in getting a resident and 3 dogs out of the house safely. Firefighters kept the fire from spreading, but the house was rendered uninhabitable, with the value of the damage estimated at $500,000. Two cats apparently died in the fire. Red Cross is helping find lodging for the three residents and their three dogs.
