A prescribed burn is planned for some forestland in Eastern Tehama County Wednesday. Cal-Fire and Sierra Pacific Industries is set to burn 85 acres of commercial forested timberlands south of Highway 36 East in the Shelton Ridge area. The burn is part of a shaded fuel break designed to provide defensible space in case of a wildfire. Once constructed, it’ll be maintained with fire or cutting and chipping. Wednesday’s burn will start around 10AM if weather allows.
