Being caught holding cordless Sawzall next to a pile of Catalytic Convertors in the middle of the night is pretty self-explanatory. At 3:45AM Sunday morning Redding Police were sent to a business on Caterpillar Road after the owner reported seeing two prowlers in the fenced yard on his remote video feed. Officers say they found Kevin Hallenbeck and Joseph Ahlin both holding battery-powered reciprocating saws. When officers said they might unleash Duke the K9, the pair immediately surrendered. Four nearby Catalytic Convertors had apparently just been cut from vehicles parked in the yard. Both were booked for grand theft and other charges.
