A CHP Officer was slightly injured overnight on Interstate 5 near South Bonnyview Road. At around 12:45AM two Ford Focuses collided on the northbound side of the freeway between Loma Vista and Bonnyview, and one of them rolled over. The cars were in the slow lane and a CHP Officer parked behind them to divert traffic. After the officer got out of his car a Ford Ranger came along and the driver didn’t see the police cruiser in time. The driver swerved and the pickup spun into the patrol car, then struck the officer. He was knocked to the ground but was not badly injured and was able to complete his shift. The driver of the pickup, 20-year-old Mary Dwight, was not under the influence of anything and was not arrested.
