Shasta County Sees Unhealthy Air As Smoke From Six Rivers Complex Drifts Into The Valley

Smoke has caused the air quality in Shasta County to deteriorate badly. Levels in the Redding area considered unhealthy or very unhealthy, and reach hazardous levels in some areas of Trinity County, especially for those with respiratory or heart conditions, the elderly, pregnant women and young children. It’s recommended that people limit their time outside and wear a “HEPA” mask if available. Officials caution that bandannas and most paper masks that help prevent the spread of germs do nothing to filter the fine particulates contained in smoke.
