Many residents have returned to their homes around Willow Creek and Salyer as the six active fires of the Six Rivers Lightning Complex have grown together into two large clusters north and south of Highway 299. Total acreage is now 26,000 with 33% containment. Control lines are holding well for the most part but crews are having trouble with burning material rolling down slopes in the extremely steep and rugged terrain. Much of the fuels involve heavy logging slash on lands that have little to no fire history. One structure has been confirmed destroyed, and there have been two injuries. Current evacuation orders can be found at community.zonehaven.com. Federal lands on the Lower Trinity Ranger District remain closed.
