More Evacuations Lifted As Fire Growth Slows On Six Rivers Complex

Many more evacuations have been lifted for residents affected by the Six Rivers Lightning Complex around Willow Creek. Intense fire activity predicted for Thursday did not happen because smoke and humidity held the fire down. The complex now totals 28,900 acres with 80% containment. Still only one structure has been destroyed and there have been 5 injuries on the largely inaccessible fire. Evacuations updates are at community.zonehaven.com. Federal lands on the Lower Trinity Ranger District remain closed. Public meetings will be held at the Hawkins Bar Volunteer Fire Department Saturday morning at 10AM and at the Hoopa Fire Department Sunday afternoon at 3PM.
