Six River Complex Grows To Over 32,500 Acres

The Six Rivers Lightning Complex around Willow Creek has grown some, but much of that is due to defensive firing operations being done to strengthen control lines. The fires total 32,572 acres with containment holding at 80%. Nearly 1,900 personnel are on scene. Still only one structure has been destroyed and there have been 5 injuries on the largely inaccessible fire. Evacuations updates are at community.zonehaven.com. Federal lands on the Lower Trinity Ranger District remain closed.

Suppression repair is underway on the McKinney fire, which is 99% contained after burning 60,138 acres. 185 buildings were destroyed, including 87 homes, and four people perished in the fire. Crews continue to patrol for hot spots while repairing damage done during the firefight.
