Tehama County authorities are looking for a person of interest in a shooting. At 1:20AM Monday morning deputies and medical personnel were sent to a home on Alpine Drive in Rancho Tehama. A man identified as Moises Salcedo had been shot in the chest. He underwent surgery and is expected to survive. Meanwhile deputies had surrounded the Rancho Tehama house as major crimes detectives and the SWAT team responded in the sheriff’s armored vehicle. Loudspeaker announcements were made in English and Spanish for several hours demanding that anyone inside needed to come out, but there was no response because nobody was there. It’s not known if he’s the shooter, but 36-year-old Christian Jesus Mezarodriguez is believed to have fled the scene after the shooting, and he’s being sought for questioning. A motive for the shooting is not known.
