For almost 90 years, the Lim Family has served Chinese food to the people of Redding at their restaurant, Lim’s Cafe. The restaurant was originally opened on Tehama Street in 1933 by Chinese immigrant Peter Lim. For the last 66 years, it’s been lighting up North Market Street with its distinctive neon sign. Next Tuesday Lim’s Cafe will serve its last wonton. The three Lim sisters who have run the place since the 70s have sold the building and are retiring.
