Bear Mountain Road north of Redding re-opened at around 5 O’clock Wednesday morning after an overnight crash that brought down power lines. At 2:35AM a pickup truck collided with a power pole near Tamera Way. The driver told a dispatcher that the pole was marked “high voltage” and was resting on the cab of the pickup, and the only thing holding up the wires was the pole. A PG&E crew was finally able to make it there and de-energize the lines shortly before 4AM. As of 6AM there were still 28 PG&E customers waiting for their electricity to be restored.
