A fire that started near Manton Friday afternoon is 35% contained and still holding at 160 acres. The Forward Fire started west of Ponderosa Way between Rock Creek and Forward Roads and is burning burning on both sides of Digger Creek. All evacuation warnings have been lifted.
The Willow Fire near Shot gun Road and Summit Lake Road in Big Bend is now 100% contained after burning 16 acres. It started Friday in thick slash along the river.
Six separate fires broke out Friday on Shasta-Trinity National Forest land south of Highway 36, Post Mountain, Wildwood and Platina. The largest was called the “Texas Fire” and it was held to 11 acres.
On Monday morning Cal-Fire crews responded to a fire on Wilson Hill Road in Shingletown. They found illegal burn piles and cited the resident for burning during a burn suspension.
