Woman Sentenced To Prison After Cooking Fire Spreads To Vegetation

A woman has been given a prison sentence for losing control of a fire in Tehama County. On August 24th Cal-Fire crews responded for a vegetation fire in the Paynes Creek Slough. They were able to hold it to about 100 by 100 feet of brush and debris. It had begun as a cooking fire that got away from 40-year-old Iva Hristova Dimitrova. Convicted of causing a forest fire, Dimitrova has been sentenced to 2 years in state prison.
