K9 Helps Deputies Arrest Man After Break-In At Big Bend Store

The Pit Stop Store in Big Bend was ransacked and trashed Sunday morning by a man who the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office says has a history of breaking into that same store. About 8:25AM Sunday an employee who lives near the store called owner Doug Wakefield, who called 9-1-1. A window on the front door was broken and things could be heard getting thrown around inside. When deputies from Burney arrived they announced they were there and that they had a K9. Getting no response, they let Ace the K9 loose and he captured 29-year-old Sampson Elijah Taylor. He was taken to a hospital and then to jail. There was several Thousand Dollars worth of damage done to the store.
