Election Update: Only 1,144 Ballots Remain Uncounted In Shasta County

The Shasta County Elections Office now estimates that there are only 1,144 ballots that remain to be counted. Anyone who has been contacted concerning a missing signature or signature matching issue must respond by next Monday to assure their ballot is counted. The turnout calculated so far appears to be 69,900, which is an impressive 61% of registered voters.

–In the District One Supervisor Race Kevin Crye has a lead of 83 votes over Erin Resner.

–District 5 Supervisor Candidate Chris Kelstrom appears to have won, with a lead of 405 votes over Anderson Mayor Barron Browning.

–For the three open seats on the Redding City Council, lone incumbent Michael Daqcuisto still leads with nearly 18%. The 2nd and 3rd place candidates are Tenessa Audette with almost 14% and Jack Munns with 12%. Alex Shea trails by 663 votes.

–The two available seats on the Anderson City Council have been won by incumbent Mike Gallagher and Grocery Outlet owner Dan Gallier.

–For the Shasta Lake City Council, Justin Jones and Pam Morgan have prevailed.

–The two seats on the Shasta County Board of Education appear to be in the hands of Covid restriction protester Arthur Gorman, who has 29%, and incumbent Steve Macfarland.

— City of Redding voters will continue to elect the City Clerk and the Treasurer, rather than have them appointed, following the defeat of Measure A.
