Two people were arrested for trespassing after they were warned multiple times to leave the area of the A.C.I.D. Canal near Cypress Avenue on Wednesday. 43-year-old Christopher Rider, and 32-year-old Sara Jensen were contacted multiple times by Redding Police during a clean up operation. Nearly 8,000 pounds of trash were removed and several other illegal campers did heed warnings and leave the area, following complaints of camping, trash, and other illegal activities. Two large trailers of personal property were also removed during the operation, and police are working on getting those items returned to the rightful owners. The cleanup was part of the RPD’s Community Work Program.
